Prescribing by additional healthcare practitioners other than medical/dental practitioners was introduced nearly two decades ago to enable local health economies to achieve targets outlined in the NHS Plan and the wider policy context of the modernisation of the NHS.
NHS North West of England has been at the forefront of developments in Non-Medical Prescribing during this long journey. We have one of the highest numbers of NMPs within England. This Prescribing for Success Website showcases our achievements and developments along the way.
